It’s Parliament of Uganda Vs EAC / EALA in the Soccer Finals Tomorrow

The EAC/EALA soccer team takes on the Parliament of Uganda in the finals of the 2012 Inter-Parliamentary football tournament tomorrow -  in what is billed to be a tough final. EAC/EALA team sailed through to the finals yesterday after beating the Parliament of Tanzania 6-5 on post-match penalties at the City Stadium. The teams had tied 1-1 in regular time.

EALA took the lead through a goal by Wycliff Keto in the first half.  Parliament of Tanzania however equalized in the second half of the match.

Scorers for the EAC team were Hon Christophe Bazivamo, Emmanuel Diah, Idd Jamal and Vivian Condwan, while Khalfan Mohammed missed his kick.    Hon Joshua Nassari’s penalty kick was saved by the EALA goalkeeper in the second set of extra penalty kicks sending the team into celebrations.

Earlier on, Parliament of Uganda beat Parliament of Rwanda 4-0 to move to the finals with the goals coming from Hon Odonga Otto, Hon Mohammed Nsereko and Dennis Okuna.

Parliament of Rwanda shall square it out with the Parliament of Tanzania in the 3rd and 4th play-off tomorrow.

In netball, the EAC/EALA team finished third after beating Kenya 49-25 at the Nyayo National Stadium netball gymnasium.   EALA scored through Nunu Iddi, Loice Ampaire, Charlotte Kyomuhangi and Petronila Gibolo.

Parliament of Tanzania were the winners of the trophy after beating Parliament of Uganda 51-27.    They topped the league with 6 points.   Uganda was second with 4 points while EALA had 2 points.   Kenya finished last with no points in the four team netball tournament.

The week-long games end in the Kenyan capital, Nairobi tomorrow.
