East African Legislative Assembly, Arusha, Tanzania, March 3rd, 2018: Today, the Speaker of EALA, Rt. Hon. Joseph Ntakirutimana, paid a courtesy call on Her Excellency Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, President of the United Republic of Tanzania at the State Lodge in Arusha.
The Head of State congratulated the Speaker of EALA for being elected unanimously by members of EALA. She further pledged her support in ensuring that the 5th Assembly fulfill its mandate of furthering the EAC integration agenda.
The President also said that her government is working hard to bring socio-economic development to East Africans and ensure that there’s peace and security in the region.
Others present in the meeting were the Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Tanzania, Dr. Stergomena Tax and officials from her Ministry.
The Speaker of EALA was flanked by the Chairperson of Members EALA, Tanzania Chapter, Hon. Angela Kizigha and officials of the Assembly.
