Curtains close on 12th IPG

East African Legislative Assembly, Juba, South Sudan: December 2nd, 2022: the curtains closed on the 12th Inter-Parliamentary Games in Juba, South Sudan.

In soccer, The Gold, Silver and Bronze medals for football discipline were not awarded pending consideration of the petition by Uganda against Team South Sudan by the Games Disciplinary Committee.

In the volleyball men’s category, Parliament of Kenya won the league (Gold) after winning all 5 games, 1st Runners Up (Silver), South Sudan, and 2nd Runners Up (Bronze), Uganda.

In women’s volleyball, due to the pending conclusion of the petition involving South Sudan and Tanzania, the match between the two teams was not played and hence the ranking of the overall team performances could not be determined.

Parliament of Uganda won overall athletics being the team with the highest number of points in athletics races for both men and women categories while the Transitional National Legislature of South Sudan scooped the gold medal in Men’s Tug of War.

Speaker of the Transitional National Legislative Assembly (TNLA), Rt. Hon. Jemma Nunu Kumba, feted all teams at the climax of the event.
